What is 3D Secure? 

3D Secure is an additional authentication method for online card transactions. 

3D Secure is simply extra security for you as a card user, as it reduces the risk of unauthorized card purchases being made online as every payment (over 30 Euro) needs to be verified with strong authentication. 

What does 3D Secure mean? 

For you as a cardholder, this means that for online purchases (over SEK 300, or the equivalent of 30 Euros) you need to identify yourself with BankID. This is relevant, for example, if you order food via food delivery platforms or buy food items online. 

This is how it works! 

When you make an online purchase, at the point of payment you will be greeted by a window asking you to confirm the payment by verifying your identity. By verifying your identity with BankID (regardless of whether it is on the mobile, on a card or on file) the transaction is completed.
